Pros
-The Center's mission is clear and is at the forefront of everyone's efforts -A building full of social workers means that for the most part, everyone is really kind to each other -Better quality of life than most non profits I've worked at -Part time employees make virtually the same rate as their full time counterparts, just without the benefits and full time hours
Cons
-Administrators are out of touch with the employees under them. -Way, way, too many meetings. -All staff (not just direct service workers) are pressured into working directly with the kids coming in for appointments. This is not communicated during the application process. This is a task that should only be done by trained social workers, as it is unfair to traumatized children to have a random operations employee babysit them instead of someone much more qualified to give trauma-informed supervision. -Some employees are criminally underpaid despite their education, experience, and importance to the Center's function. Management looks for highly qualified applicants and pays them the lowest rate possible. -Some departments are well treated and well staffed. Back-end/ support departments are overworked and underpaid. -DEI is an important priority for client service, but not in hiring/ staffing.
