Cons

At Chemyx the management will promise you a once in a life time opportunity to work with a CEO who claims to be a "serial entrepreneur" and "angel / private equity investor." They will make false promises that this is a once in a life time opportunity, that you will be exposed to a variety of experiences. They will lie to you and make you believe that you will be a better version of your self and grow in your career. Once you understand what is going around you, you will see that this is all a mind game that they end up playing with every employee. Being told lies about your career growth in the company when in fact there is something opposite going on behind closed doors. The company also ends up hiring many as a contractors during this phase to exploit them to working harder for the full-time position when they plan to let them go during the end of the contract. This has happened in many cases with other potential talented employees.

Pros

They pay average or (sometimes) slightly better. The work itself is not that hard.

Cons

Family owned. The family desperately needs to hire a professional manager and step (far) away from actually attempting to run the business, or manage people. Leadership is bizarre and inconsistent. They are clueless about managing people. They sell new hires on a cool idea and culture that is a fantasy. Your job will be to pretend. Pretend to work. Pretend that the leader has good ideas and that you admire him. Pretend to believe in whatever the latest fake plan is. Pretend that it's a cool place to work. If you are an excellent actor and enjoy inconsistency and games, definitely work here. There is no opportunity for advancement or growth.
