At Chemyx the management will promise you a once in a life time opportunity to work with a CEO who claims to be a "serial entrepreneur" and "angel / private equity investor." They will make false promises that this is a once in a life time opportunity, that you will be exposed to a variety of experiences. They will lie to you and make you believe that you will be a better version of your self and grow in your career. Once you understand what is going around you, you will see that this is all a mind game that they end up playing with every employee. Being told lies about your career growth in the company when in fact there is something opposite going on behind closed doors. The company also ends up hiring many as a contractors during this phase to exploit them to working harder for the full-time position when they plan to let them go during the end of the contract. This has happened in many cases with other potential talented employees.
Management gives you a lot of flexibility, so you have a lot of time to work at your pace. You can spend your time learning new skills.
Cons
There’s no upward mobility. They treat it as a startup mentality, so one person does 6 jobs, but they have no intentions on growing, so you’re stuck. Management is all over the place, so you never know who to listen to.
