Pros

- Friendly coworkers - Very diverse - Career opportunities if you are complacent & don’t question them

Cons

Very disorganized, yes it is a startup but certain things are common sense. —Heath insurance isn’t poor, providers who accept Harvard pilgrim are a lot of poorly rated facilities. -Watch you 24/7 on Zoom, have to update your phone whereabouts as if they cannot trust you to complete your work. ***They mislead you about the shift you would be hired for working, now that they are expanding they did not hire people for specific later shifts within their time zone.** but instead are making everyone potentially change their shifts. Supervisors & Leads are not helpful but rather so focused on career mobility that they simply reiterate generic ineffective scripting like robots. Very business centric in an inhumane way and their policies on expediting cases for provider offices does not make sense to anyone with healthcare experience and they cannot rationally explain why. Salary is NOT commensurate with experience so there are unknowledgeable people and even some with no healthcare or business experience who could be working above people with 13 years of said experience which is counterproductive and it shows in how the business runs. Very much a networking company to work your way up.

Cohere Health Response

At Cohere, we really value team member's feedback and truly thank you for taking the time to share how you feel. We strive to ensure all team members are able to receive real time support, while also building a sense of community and teamwork. This is done through Zoom which gives all the opportunity to be part of the virtual contact center and interact with teammates. Cohere believes in pay equity and is very honest with potential employees during the interviewing and hiring process about the pay rate and future hours of operation. We are very interested in all team members' professional growth and work closely with team members towards those goals. We have a defined career laddering program for our Intake team members that is accessible via our internal web based resource page and is reviewed with new team members live quarterly. We encourage you to speak directly with the leadership team about your goals and career aspirations; as we as a company are very interested in cultivating talent and creating a positive work experience. We can’t wait to be a part of your journey.

Pros

Remote position, effective AI tools

Cons

Aggressive productivity standards enacted after being employed for a short time: 2 months. Low pay compared to similar work at other legacy insurance companies. You are told when training that as long as you follow the Work Instructions and ensure doing the prior authorizations correctly- you will be fine. But Work Instructions are NOT updated, then it is challenging to find the answer. Slack is used for searching and asking questions, or visiting one of the multiple Zoom rooms. You are on camera for entire shift in a Zoom room. It seemed to me leadership does not care about precision and doing the job thouroughly but more so doing as many cases as possible- yet you are audited to do cases a certain way and that certain way differs from one Subject Matter Expert (SME) to another. The nurses are teaching the AI chatbot how to get smarter and take over doing the simpler cases, But the chatbot assists the nurses as well all while the nurses are teaching the chatbot.
