Pros

I love this company! Personally, I love being on camera all day. I dont see it as a negative (as so many people have described it as). Rather, I see the cameras as a way of connecting with my coworkers and trying to make us feel like we’re people- working together- as much as possible…. instead of just names in a chat. Don’t let anyone fool you- you can mute yourself, blur your background, and go off camera to pick your nose! I’ve had nothing but great experiences with my leads, supervisors, and manager. I think they’re great! I can morally stand behind what the company actually does for patients. I feel appreciated and listened to. I feel like I am respected and part of a growing company. Benefits start on day 1. We are permanently WFH. I love how diverse our company is.. The quality of equipment provided supersedes expectations. I’m never stuck doing the same old monotonous job everyday. I genuinely love going to work!

Cons

The disorganization is a real issue. It is a startup company. Running a company with 50 employees is not the same as running a company with 500 employees. So yes, there are growing pains, learning curves, ambiguous answers, ever-changing operating procedures, and new policies. This is really tough for some people. $18/hr isn’t the greatest pay. I’m busy at work. There is a lot of critical thinking skills at play and knowledge and past experience at play. I would like to hope that this pay will increase as the company gets bigger. Similarly, I would like to see the benefits package grow, as well. At this time there is no 401k matching, no tuition reimbursement, and the health insurance is a bit steep.

Pros

Remote position, effective AI tools

Cons

Aggressive productivity standards enacted after being employed for a short time: 2 months. Low pay compared to similar work at other legacy insurance companies. You are told when training that as long as you follow the Work Instructions and ensure doing the prior authorizations correctly- you will be fine. But Work Instructions are NOT updated, then it is challenging to find the answer. Slack is used for searching and asking questions, or visiting one of the multiple Zoom rooms. You are on camera for entire shift in a Zoom room. It seemed to me leadership does not care about precision and doing the job thouroughly but more so doing as many cases as possible- yet you are audited to do cases a certain way and that certain way differs from one Subject Matter Expert (SME) to another. The nurses are teaching the AI chatbot how to get smarter and take over doing the simpler cases, But the chatbot assists the nurses as well all while the nurses are teaching the chatbot.
