Pros
Huge company, lots of opportunities to jump around states or even countries Multiple leadership development programs Education reimbursement plan is OK (used to be better) Very involved with donations, charity, and sponsorship of volunteer organizations (like the special Olympics) I've heard they have very good maternity/paternity benefits, and adoptions are treated the same Some of the products they work on are really cool, especially with their Space Systems divison (people often forget about them, but their work is substantial!)
Cons
Company is very large and tends to be bloated down with many layers of management Seems common that one engineer is reporting through multiple chains of management which gets very confusing, double the paperwork Depends what department you're in but the employee culture can be very poisonous, embittered, and fosters laziness There are so many people that somehow important things are no one's responsibility Once you get a good look at the company at large, you realize it's really just a conglomeration of other companies that don't really talk to each other. So I guess keep in mind that one person's bad experience may not be the truth everywhere. Pretty universally, the vast majority of the work force are white men over 45. If you're a minority, you will get special treatment whether you want it or not. Many find it hard to advance beyond senior level technic roles.
