      Excellent academic environment, plenty of jobs for students who need to make money for basic expenses, job availability within one's major department, and experience building

      Cons

      You can get sucked into having jobs that are just jobs and don't help with experience or one's career path. Don't take just any job, some of them are worthless for the student other than the money.

      My job with the Columbia Population Research Center is fully remote, which is a great perk. I can also create my own schedule and work any day of the week.

      The work when I had it was amazing, I really appreciated it for what it gave me.

      Cons

      Unfortunately, with the change in management came zero transparency and rules for thee, not for me. It's led to really weird decisions.
