Pros

If you’re a narcissist, this is your place.

Cons

By far the worst employer I’ve ever experienced. This organization is a gaslighting, brainwashing sweat shop of lies, false abilities & deliverables, and micro psychological abuse day in, and day out. Training & onboarding is laughable. It’s time consuming at best. Old, rehashed, sales tactics, workbooks, quizzes, videos and someone with minimal experience making sure you completed and checked all the boxes. The company produced videos are where the gaslighting begins. It’s entertaining at an adolescent level. Their benefit packages are sub-par at best. Expect to pay around $500 per month in addition to co-pays and deductibles. If they valued people, benefits would be covered in full. Especially considering they pay poverty wages and can easily afford it. This company is so ultra cheap, they consider company perks like cable & internet, part of your pay. If only I could pay my electric bill, I could watch that show on cable/internet. Exaggerated for effect. If you climb the ladder, it’s mostly due to attrition. Turnover is consistent. Once the soul is wholly possessed, narcissism (insecurity) drives their fear-based structure of zombie minions who do nothing more than follow what the manipulated data tells them to do. Steer false outcomes and lies. AKA: you gas light employees and your clients. There's an entire structure to manipulate perceptions of campaign data to paint a picture of positive outcomes that just are not the truth. This in essence is the foundation of the entire operation & organization. If you do not fall in line like a good little minion, you will be targeted and harassed for termination. The goal is to make your life so sick and disfunction, you will quit. I’ve known for many years this is a twisted, corrupt company. When I was hired, I thought, I’ll drink the cool aid and see where it goes. They are so good; it actually took hold. During covid, seeing all the public relations propaganda they launched, posing as a concerned community supporter, and watching all the corporate bobbing head, minions on video staff meetings, I was shocked back to reality. The charity donations etc. are paid for by all the under paid employees. Nothings free. Honestly, there’s not even much to learn when you consider it’s based on manipulation and false perceptions. What good is living a life of lies? You get what we have in our society today. A manipulation of false realities to benefit the rich. After 2 years of covid, I was successful in sustaining and bringing back old and new business. I qualified for an annual bonus. I was fired to avoid paying out that bonus. Systemic targeting for speaking logic to ineffective narcissist management. HR helped guide the targeting. Run! But be aware. Our lives would be better without this big brother mental masturbation cult.

Pros

Working at Comcast has given me the opportunity to develop myself; take the time to grow and learn, and that was really important to me during the time in my life when I joined the company. If you have the drive and ambition, there are a ton of ways in which you can grow into a leader if that's what you want to be. I took advantage of the continued education benefit and am finishing my masters degree now... I also joined a couple of the employee resource groups which offer seminars and networking events that support your professional profile. Listen, I'm not a total nerd. The point of my post is that this isn't a company you join and just stay stale within. They encourage your growth, but it's up to you to make it happen. Not only this - it's pretty exciting. We're busy and we have big jobs to do. My salary is in the top percentile for my industry but not only this, I again get the continued education (which is ~$6K/year) plus free cable/internet, top health care benefits and a truly balanced lifestyle - which is rarely the case within the Tech industry.

Cons

Telling people you work at Comcast triggers 2 typical responses: 1) A big hatred rant on customer service 2) A how do I get my foot in the door? The reputation of the company is difficult, but the style of the company is to stay humble - I've never seen the company defend themselves against the harmful and discrediting news that exists. I personally think they should defend themselves a little more - they are between a rock and a hard place in many instances of service. I personally experienced visiting someone's home where the issues they were having with their connection was due to a tree root growing into the cable lines which had been their for over 20 years. Things like that cannot be diagnosed over a phone call. It's hard work in the field for sure. Being a part of the corporate side sometimes we're too disconnected from what's happening on the frontline. So I think the size of the organization comes with its complications, but again if you're a working professional looking for an exciting, robust and sexy career, you can comfortably have it here.
