Pros

1) Put a "joining late" message in availability group to skip morning sprint meetings, no accountability for the rest of the day. 2) Long bullshitting meetings in which you can get your own stuff done. 3) No need to work, once in good books of founders (getting there is really easy, just constantly validate them). 4) You can get a lot of gratification without creating any real world impact. 5) Day drinking, smoking, passing out is encouraged 6) Have a feeling of hanging out with smart people. 7) Talk about great things, and feel good just by blabbering. 8) Lessons in what not to do in your next venture. 9) Individual teams & contributors are good and have patience (of not creating real-world impact) 10) Have good time at denial

Cons

1) Company policies, values, and culture were a marketing stunt, not followed even to a slightest bit. 2) Criminally incompetent at keeping track of reality 3) Kaccha rasta to a trashy office space (just rent an apartment with good lightning) 4) Constant lies to others and themselves

I'm not sure if you indeed worked at Cutshort. 1. You said your role was "Executive Assistant to the CEO". Well, I'm the CEO and have never had an EA here. 2. "Trashy office". Hmm. It's subjective but we liked it very much. Will share some pics. 3. If all the company culture docs and blogs were a "marketing stunt", how did we consistently had 4.5+ ratings on both Glassdoor and Ambitionbox for 6 years? I understand your experience might not have been good. From your review it looks likely that Cutshort wasn't the right company for you to work at. In that sense, we both made a mistake.

Pros

Having worked at another recruitment firm since my time here, I can better appreciate the structure and expectations at Cutshort. The team operates at a high standard, which naturally comes with strong expectations, but there is also genuine support and effort to enable employees to succeed. Many people joining early in their careers may not have exposure to other recruitment startups, and this experience can help set a strong benchmark for performance and professionalism. The remote work setup is a plus, and management generally avoids micromanagement while maintaining accountability. I learned a great deal during my time here, particularly around building sales processes and playbooks, and this experience played a meaningful role in my professional growth.

Cons

wish they were more inclusive and trusting, not cold. They would not sell dreams and give the promised benefits as in the letter.
