Determine Response
7yHi anonymous, Patrick here, thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback.
I know we know each other, which is why I am so interested in your feedback and thoughts about Determine. Whether you chose to, or were asked to leave, it is too bad things didn’t work out for you at the company. It is unfortunate that you felt it necessary to air your grievances here instead of coming to me or your supervisor or HR - everyone knows our doors are always open.
Even so, I would like to take this opportunity to correct the misperceptions you included in your review.
For starters, Determine is an entrepreneurial company and professional growth potential is wide open for those who are ambitious, creative and smart - like your former colleagues who are still here. As you would have seen during each of our monthly Town Hall meetings, we promote numerous people regularly across all areas of the company.
That's why I am shocked that you feel there is a culture ill will or “backstabbing” here; perhaps you had a bad experience or personality conflict with someone? During my frequent walks around the office, I wish you would have said something about it all those times I stopped by your desk to say hello.; Or brought it up with your supervisor or HR. Determine strives to create a collegial environment in the office, and close teamwork is a hallmark of our culture.
I’m equally perplexed by your impressions of me and the executive team. If you find me too enthusiastic about our company and our products, it’s because they’re worth bragging about. Our investors, customers and analysts think so, too — if I’m not in the office, you'll find me visiting them across global locations.
Your remark about the executive team is so interesting because everyone in senior management is held accountable by our Board of Directors. As a publicly-traded company on Nasdaq (Symbol: DTRM), everything you need to know about what goes on here is on the public record. Again, I am sorry you didn’t take the time to come my office to discuss your concerns, talk about the business, our market approach, and maybe learn about how the company operates, how business operates, as well as maybe better understand our long-term growth strategy.
For everyone else reading this, like “anonymous” I also enthusiastically encourage you to do your research on me or the management team of any company you are interested in joining, including Determine. That’s just Job Hunting 101. In fact, if there is anything you would like to know or ask, feel free to reach out to me at any time: pstakenas@determine.com.
Be well and best wishes to your future successes.
