Managers at EPCOR USA seem not that professional and highly depend on department and who you know. With the recent changes, management changes constantly. Hiring is also usually just one manager only causing discrepancies in talents that are needed and the actual ones that are hired. I noticed increased levels of hiring/firing/quitting. Sometimes it feels like kindergarten. The work process is also a bit unprofessional-whatever works at the minimum level. Pay and promotion is subpar for non manager roles and is also based on favors a lot of times instead of ability. Certain roles seem strange that has the same level that covers people from 1 year experience to 1 year before retirement. Well again unless you are the chose ones. Also the pay doesn't seem to reflect someone who works really hard and takes care of things and someone who always just cause issues and leaves work to others causing low motivation. Who cares about the 2% pay increase difference with good or bad performance reviews. If someone is in operations, I find the on call is very unfair to certain people/districts. Wage doesn't keep up with the inflation either. The culture that's advertised in Canada has nothing to do with US. For example, when asked about ERG effort in US by employees, it was predictable to hear they might be considering veteran groups. I would think a religious group would also fit as sometimes it seems to run like that.
