Pros
Eastman was once a great company with a genuinely strong culture. Many of the people who work there are both brilliant and kind. The type of colleagues who elevate the work and make collaboration meaningful. There is real talent inside the organization, and when teams are empowered, the work can be exceptional.
Cons
Leadership at the highest levels has created a culture that can feel toxic and demoralizing. The focus on results is not the issue. It is entirely possible to be both bottom‑line driven and humane. Too often at Eastman, kindness is replaced with passive aggression and shaming, and accountability is delivered in ways that erode morale rather than strengthen performance. The tone set at the top permeates the organization, and it takes a toll on even the most committed teams.
