Pros
Excellent place to work for a software engineer who wants to work at a company that uses leading edge tech to solve the investment management industry’s complex problems. Has a proven track record and best in industry engineers and domain experts to help keep innovating. Organization is built from ground up and most of the senior management started at the company and moved up which is very encouraging. Management is transparent in communicating good and bad news, shares revenue and income numbers with employees in quarterly townhalls despite being a privately held company. CEO’s periodic emails detailing what is happening across all the divisions is helpful especially for mid level employee like me in knowing where the company is heading.
Cons
Not much really, the domain is a non trivial and can be a little intimidating at start. In short if you want to write software to sell pet food, this is not the place for you (not that I have anything against selling pet food).
