Pros

Pay, Flexibility, only support staff in office and rarely see boss/employer, learn to handle incoming communications where customer is always upset due to not having the ability to talk to employer, grow thicker skin, eat away at your kindness, heart and soul then have it all ripped out of your hands because poo poo flows downhill.

Cons

Train self on several platforms. Answer about 60-70 phone calls all day alone and then get to be asked questions about what was XYZ's problem yesterday when they called, Yelling, Cussing, slamming of doors, Fists pounding down on the table and is fighting from your own employer. Yet you cannot leave. You must stay and listen, feel this rage and anger so you can be curled up into a ball and not be able to move. The other(s) who witnesses this behavior when employer is present cannot and will not stick up for you because they are just has afraid as you are. Money talks and walks in this predicament. The Lies. Due to no upper management to oversee, it's free for all. And if you have the opportunity to reach out for help, the others in the same company you thought you knew and could trust will ignore you has if nothing is even going on. It's embarrassing. It completely tears you up down. It is sick and sad. Should not be allowed! This is just one experience of many uncomfortable experiences while interviewing and trying to make a place within the company. Ethics are something we in this industry know. Here they are NOT PRACTICED.

Pros

Work from home, make your own hours, fun claim types, starts off with great PTO allotment and you have access to all your hours from the moment you start with an extra week after five years

Cons

Good luck with your diaries if you use the PTO. You will come back with overdue items. The way they have their PTO backup system setup is two backup people for the whole department. There is too much work for them so they don't get to much while you are out. Usually voicemails. You can' schedule anything for while you are gone, all your claims have to wait for you to return. The amount of new claims a week has drastically increased and it isn't sustainable. They do expect you to work more than your 40 hours or recommend that you find a different job that isn't a salary position, PTO calendars are always red with blackout dates. Supervisors and the manager don't listen to actionable items presented to make the department better. The attrition is bad, but they continue to tell us we are fully staffed because our diaries aren't that bad yet. Adjusters are dropping like flies but won't hire anymore. Not sure if that comes from senior leadership or direct leadership. Ever since Jeff Dailey left, we are just numbers. No one cares about us anymore and it is evident.
