Pros

Good benefits. Usually flexible with hours depending on location.

Cons

Rude customers. I have worked retail, fast food, and been a waitress. I have never had to deal with the level of rudeness and ignorance that I have at FedEx Office. Customers wait till the last minute to come in a print important things like homework, proposals, or invitations and get really angry when we are too busy to do it on the spot. They will treat you like you are stupid and sometimes even curse at you. I have even had a customer throw something at me. The pay is not enough for all that you have to know and deal with. We are expected to know everything about shipping a package including, what is restricted, every type of packaging we offer, how many inches of bubble wrap to put of every different type of fragile material, and various other things. The shipping, however, is nothing compared to how much we have to learn to run the printing area of FedEx Office. There are various programs we have to learn how to use including Microsoft word, photoshop, excel, and many other programs that were created by FedEx Office. We also have to learn how to make all of the different print products we offer. Banners, canvas prints, adhesive vinyl, invitations, business cards, flyers, brochures, pamphlets, programs, carbon copies, note pads, resumes, booklets, and posters. Just to name a few. Lastly, we have a retail area so we have to change price tags, restock, reset, and organize all of the overpriced products we offer. Always short staffed. With a staff or 1-3 people (4 if we're lucky) we are expected to do all of the above while we are helping customers currently in the store and trying to complete all orders by the due times. On top of all of that we are also expected to vacuum the entire store, take out all the trash, clean the windows, and clean the restrooms. All they care about is numbers. FedEx Office does not care about the customers or their employees. At the end of the day the only thing they care about is if we hit our goals. We are expected to sell a certain number of pack and ships, a certain percentage of color copies, and certain number of signs and graphics. Those are just a few of the things they measure. They don't care whether the customers are extremely happy or unsatisfied. In their eyes you are not doing a good job unless those numbers are met. These are just some of the problems I had while working at FedEx Office. I could go on all day.

Pros

Have a Strong staff and great customers -for the most part. Don't see my boss but 1-2 month.

Cons

The corp fluff to accomplish something. Setting all these goals and targets then forget about 90% until it's time to do the yearly "anonymous" survey. Then you see which stores had how many surveys done. 🙄 Keep it short and sweet it would be more effective. Have outstanding customer service but don't do anything personal in your store to recognize your customers. Be different but don't show it 😂 Working for Amazon now with no more pay. It benefits the store not us in our paychecks. At times unrealistic expectations with a high volume store and a staff of 4-5.
