Pros
If you want to be a low paid phone drone, Fidelity is the place for you. If you love being treated like dirt and feel that management should rightfully walk all over their employees, Fidelity is the place for you. If you have no ambition other than to make a paycheck and go home frustrated every day, Fidelity is DEFINITELY the place for you. On the other hand, if you are an IT Professional who places value on their contribution to a company and would like to feel that your efforts will be rewarded, Fidelity is a place you should stay far, far away from.
Cons
Ned Johnson no longer has anything to do with the day-to-day operations of the company and consequently the goal of the current management is to take the company in the complete opposite direction to that which it was once directed. IT is now considered a low priority and the emphasis on using technology to stay at the forefront of the financial industry is a thing of the past. No new equipment, move as many jobs overseas as possible, reduce the technical staff to a shadow of what it once was, bring in the head choppers, and generally shift the emphasis to the sales force is Roger Lawson's method of running the company (into the ground).
