Pros

This is a tough review to write considering this company almost ruined my life along with countless others that I know of. But I need to write this review so I can move on. The only pros I can think of are you might make a friend or two. Side note: the company does have good people in it.

Cons

Alright let’s dive into this shall we? Fortitude systems, what do they do? They are a technical recruiting firm, better you know now because they won’t tell you on your interview day lol. What fortitude does is they prey on former college athletes who are right in the sweet spot of very dedicated/good work ethic who also have no professional experience. They tailor their sell to you as, “listen other companies may look over you because of the lack of XYZ but we recognize that you can really contribute here and have the opportunity to make 200k by the time you are 25!!!” They combine this with 4-6 beers at the end of the interview and you are almost crawling over the table for the job offer. If you can have a conversation with people and aren’t completely out to lunch they will call you the next day with the offer. I’m laughing writing this because they honestly do such a good job of brain washing while you are there, they say this is a super selective recruiting process when in reality they hire anybody and everybody possible. This part is very important so I wanted to give it its own paragraph. They will never let you work in your hometown or anywhere close to where you want to be to start off. The reason they do this is because they want you to have 0 friends and no one else to actually compare what your daily life is like. Additionally they know that once you sign a lease halfway across the country you would have to damn near bankrupt yourself if you wanted to leave the company and move back home. Also for all of the men out there they will make you shave your face every day so you can sit in a recruiting pit and cold call all day. (Wack) So you will be joining a market that is shrinking due to tech layoffs and not be able to make commission until 6 months from your start date, insane! I think the most bothersome thing for me is that they try to control your personal life, they make sure the only friends you have are in the office and if you choose to make friends outside the office good luck getting promoted. Haha that brings me to my next point, “promotions” they will promote you 3 time before there is an actual increase in pay and it’s only for your commission. You go from rookie -> A -> AA all of which you are doing the same job recruiting. The craziest part is the job that everyone is working for and that they hold over your head like a dang trophy, AAA, is legit an appointment setter BDR. You can join any other company out of college to be a BDR and just bang the lines all day trying to set appointments for AE’s and AM’s. You can legit do this elsewhere for more pay and you don’t have to recruit. They watch as they crush the spirits of former vibrant young college athletes and turn them into beer drinking fried food eating slobs. I can’t stress this enough please please please qualify this opportunity prior to signing.
