However, I do want to let you know that the 401(k) employer match actually starts after one calendar year of service plus 1,000 hours. To encourage 401(k) savings, the firm is automatically deducting 6% of an employee's salary unless they opt out. The employer's contributions to your 401(k) are vested after 3 years, but they are accumulating before that time, which means that you are fully vested now and can see the contributions to your account!!
