Pros
FPMS is the most dysfunctional company I’ve ever seen. The environment in the building is depressing and company culture is horrible. There is constant turn over, several employees are either fired or quit weekly. During the interview process, the company is portrayed as very progressive and employee centric however that couldn’t be further from the truth. The leadership team is demeaning and worries about the strangest things like what an employee is wearing in their Facebook profile picture. The level of micro management from the President and COO is extreme to the point where they monitor all employees emails. One never knows when they will get called into the principal’s office to be thoroughly critiqued and reminded of how unknowledgeable and insignificant they are.
Cons
1. Horrible culture – employees are in constant fear of being terminated. 2. Obsessive leadership team – monitor everything employees do including the most insignificant things like what they’re eating for lunch. They’re also very pretentious and look down on all of their employees except for one person in human resources whom they have a very strange almost paternalistic relationship with. Policies do not apply to her and she is allowed to be short and condescending towards employees. 3. Strange and outdated policies – they have implemented some strange policies like not being able to have coffee at your desk and only allowing thirty minutes for lunch so that employees don’t have time to leave the building. These only add to the poor culture. 4. Lack of diversity – during my time with FPMS, there was one person of color in a staff of 50. This seems very low. 5. Intense work load – the workload expectations are very high for billers and collectors and although they do pay about a dollar more an hour than the competition, it isn’t worth it for the stress of working in such an unpleasant work environment and being expected to do significantly more work.
