Pros

Benefits were okay, and had a family fun day, quarterly lunch as whole company were fun even though they went away.

Cons

Projects are always scheduled to get out the door fast, but schedule wouldn’t change enough to allow for project changes. Upper management would demand projects be finished by certain time(especially end of year to meet a quota) at the cost of quality. The most hours are always worked at end of year to push out some project with a ridiculous schedule. I emphasize this so much because it was consistently brought up to PMs that scheduling was not realistic, but little was done to change things. Customers have began to see quality of project go down, in which word gets around fast. No merit raises. Very conservative with bonuses. Your hard work will probably go unnoticed. They tell you that you can be anything you want at Gcon, which is untrue- you will probably be pigeonholed. Corruption in the upper management, very serious about this. Self-centric work culture at the core. Work-life balance is non-existent, very serious about this as well.. they are more than content to have you work 80 hours a week.

G-CON Manufacturing Response

It is unfortunate but a fact of life that disgruntled former employees will write false and misleading reviews such as this one. This review deserves a response given the numerous inaccuracies. 1) G-CON has a 90-day review and an annual review for every position. Raises are awarded at the end of every year. 2) The Company has a well-defined bonus plan for managers and there is a bonus plan based on company success that applies to every position. 3) 14 of 19 members of management have been promoted into their current role. We very much promote from within. 4) There is not a single instance of corruption within upper management. Such an accusation is libelous. Our company was purchased in July of 2021 and the due diligence process was intense and far-reaching. Every aspect of the business and personnel, including senior management, was reviewed in detail including all current senior managers. None of the senior managers were replaced or put into lesser positions. There is no and never has been any evidence of corruption at G-CON. 5) There are times when projects require significant work to meet project schedules and time when overtime is required. However, this is not the norm. Some reviews complain about not having enough opportunity for overtime and some complain about too much so you may draw your own conclusions about that. 80 hours per week is 11.5 hours per day 7 days a week. We do not require that from anyone.

Pros

G-CON has a wonderful team environment where everyone is like family, working with a common goal in mind. Upper management does a wonderful job at listening to team members and implementing opportunities for growth, success and career advancement.

Cons

Company is still considered "new" relative to the industry but has proven to lead the industry with a quality product.

Pros

Industry standard salary and commission Very flat organization Easy to navigate

Cons

Extremely unethical company. Who fires someone going on short term disability the week before? Strategy of low price and then high change orders. Hiding high expense items to show a lower price. Drive down cost by low quality parts and leaving items off scope. Straight up lied during interview process. Promised X, but then "didn't have the authority" 6 months later when x was due. Illegal and discriminatory HR issues Turnover rates are so high that no one knows their new role Toxic leadership No ones interested in doing business with them Mass cold calling for this type of work isn't a good strategy They will find ways to pay you less. Non realistic targets Mass layoffs and then cant do the job I cant wait to see them implode in 2-3 years
