Pros

Gitlab is a fast growing & progressive software organization that values each employee. Not only is there opportunity to contribute to the entire organization & have an impact on others, it's expected. Everyone can contribute is our motto and we all grow together. Working as a remote employee doesn't feel like isolation. It's been the best experience since going Gitlab since the flexibility provides a control on life while still able to hits sales targets.

Cons

This a rapidly growing software organization that is 100% remote with plenty of growing pains. It's imperative to be the squeaky wheel and speak up when you have questions. Sometimes this isn't communicated upfront & can feel like you're on an island. To that point, we have weekly meetups for local workers to break away from the house routine.

Pros

Best company I've ever worked for. Strong culture, great leadership, competitive compensation, excellent work life balance, and a genuine focus on employee well being and career growth.

Cons

Fast paced environment and high expectations, but that's part of working at a successful, growing company.

Pros

OK pay or benefits in the market. Fully remote. Still is trying to frame itself as a big player.

Cons

Leadership went from being collaborative, communicative, and transparent, to being mercurial, secretive, and out of touch with the actual work. OBSESSSES over your AI usage metrics - even if AI doesn't help you and slows you down. The current layoff in progress was communicated poorly and not planned at all. And now they want us to adore the leaders and the company? Cultish vibes. We went from a company that plans ahead to a company that reacts.
