Pros
- Extremely flat - As we say, "we have no mandate", so you can do pretty much anything if you can convince your boss to endorse you - incredible resources
Cons
- poor training (I've also worked at a BB bank - the two don't even compare) - everyone who manages risk/actually is important, is top, top pedigree (incredible background, very smart), but very few people come to Glencore directly from University. This means almost everyone is scalped from a bank or competitor, making mentorship for youngsters weak - if you want to trade, you need to jump through a lot of hoops before you get sent on the road
