Pros

They TRY to make your time in the office seem more pleasant by hiring a lot of really great people, providing snacks and drinks for when you inevitably can't take a lunch, and organizing lots of corporate events where booze flows freely to allow inter-company predation. You can move up quickly if you don't mind giving up your personal freedom, opinions, and social life (outside of work). If it seems everyone is friends with each other, it's because nobody has time for friendships outside of work. Brown nosing is a huge plus.

Cons

They will pay you as little as they can afford to, all the while expecting you to put in the time and effort of someone earning a six-figure salary. Their main motivational tool is the continuous fear of termination. Forget about going food shopping, picking up packages, or having the energy to do anything mildly sociable during the week. With the business continuously changing and migrating to different markets, the corporate identity is flimsy at best.

HitFox Group Response

Hi! My name is Therese and I started as an intern at HitFox Group seven months ago. Before the minimum wages were introduced in Berlin, it was not uncommon that startups offered unpaid internships. HitFox internship salary was at the higher end, and with the new regulation it follows the market standard. Internship salaries generally do not make you rich, but in a city as affordable as Berlin I can live a very comfortable life on what I earn as an intern. The office is busy between 10am-7pm, but it is not uncommon for people to come in earlier and leave later. Sure some weeks get busy, but I always have the time and energy to meet with friends, do sports, and run errands throughout the week. The people that I work with are all very ambitious and hard-working, and they are also some of the friendliest and most interesting people I have met. These are the kind of colleagues I look for when interviewing and the ones that stay for the longer term. If you have any questions, please feel free to write me a line: ts@hitfoxgroup.com. Therese (Marketing).
