Pros
None really. They used to be segment leader (with, frankly, a unique and very useful idea) - However, that lead is slipping away because innovation and efforts to stay ahead cost money, which they are not prepared to spend
Cons
A lot - upper management, without really understanding the ins and outs of a function, keeps interfering . And if you don't realize their half-baked ideas pronto (and without spending any money on it) you are doomed. Nepotism galore, either you are family and friends or you'll stay on the outside. Tolerated while you function in the way they desire. Out the moment you don't (anymore).
