Pros

There are many service lines which serve the construction and real estate industry in different capacities such as construction management and consulting, forensic accounting, and insurance/claims consulting and engineering consulting. Within any of these areas of expertise, there is an opportunity to be or to grow into an expert role including expert reporting and testimony, which I find to be exciting work. Aside from career opportunities, the company has been very friendly with respect to work/life balance (including pre-pandemic) and has handled remote working throughout the pandemic extremely well. While I can't speak to all managers, those that are in my group are very smart people with a diverse background in construction management, and are just good honest people. Like any consulting firm, how much you bill is important and there are certain expectations for the # of hours per week you work. However, I don't feel pressured to work the insane hours that I hear about some of our competitors and there are incentives for working longer hours.

Cons

I'd like to see upper management allocate some of our hours for the purpose of advancement and training. There could be more of a focus on this. Right now, you are expected to do training, certifications, etc on your own time.

Pros

Was hybrid with 1-day in office. Office was really nice. They provided free food.

Cons

Micro-managing like no other. Impossible to understand assignments and or be on the same page as supervisor. EVERYONE is related to each other in one way or another. Normally this would not be an issue, but there is no upwards progression unless you were a family or family-adjacent. Necessary processes for bonus eligibility, such as performance reviews, were inconsistent, unclear, and sloppy. Awful work life balance and your managers ensure to pass off their bad mood to you. The worst communication practices. Job role and duties are completely unusable if you are attempting to move out of Forensic Economics. Their HR is despicable and not there to help their employees.
