Pros
As with most oil & gas companies, life/work balance is good and pay scale is good, nice new office building with decent cubes. Most of the people you work with on a daily basis are friendly and helpful.
Cons
-Expect to be micromanaged, even if you are a member of management. Any expertise you have will quickly be dismissed.
-On a number of occasions I've witnessed employees being berated by management during meetings, this seems to be a part of the management culture.
-Communication is extremely poor from leadership down.
-Advancement is based on being friends of, or part of the family that owns the company.
-There's no clear direction from company leadership, tasks change on a regular basis and there seems to be no real commitment to completing projects. This is a strange quality to go along with micromanaging your employees, but they pull it off by redirecting efforts constantly.
-There's no framework for providing feedback to employees, yearly reviews are non-existent.
