More of the same from George Oliver and his minions - Local Market Manager Johnson Controls Employee Review

Pros

There is brand recognition but that is diminishing as we shift focus away from customers and employees to shareholders and margins.

Cons

George Oliver will cost this company to death just like he did to legacy Tyco. Merger is a disaster. IT cannot figure out how to make the already antiquated Tyco systems integrate. People spend entire days just trying to get systems to work instead of being in front of customers. Benefits have decreased. Cost of them increased. Senior “leadership”is more than willing to cause serious financial damage to employees to show false growth through unsustainable cost cuts. No support or communication from above, just “give us more”. They are so far disconnected from what goes on at the district level it is laughable.

Pros

Decent pay, good PTO and benefits

Cons

Everything else. ZERO training. They hand you a laptop (which is garbage) and say good luck. There is no "team." Everyone is on their own. The senior techs all reached their peak 20 years ago and don't even know what BACnet is. The bureaucracy is unbearable. Ordering a simple part is nearly impossible. There are so many apps you have to check in on everyday and they care more about those metrics than they care about the service their customers are receiving. If you want to get your butt kicked everyday with zero support at a company that specializes in taking advantage of their customers, this is the job for you.
