Pros
The company pays well, but only if you are good enough to negotiate for yourself otherwise you will languish on the minimum amount possible for as long as you can put up with it. There are a number of good people dotted around the varying business sectors but they are few and far between.
Cons
Due to the disparate nature of the company and the constant desire to acquire competitors/complimentary businesses there is a massive lack of communication between divisions and this can be crippling at times, it is very much a case of one hand never knowing what the other is up to except when something goes badly wrong (which it frequently does). The IT department in particular as a whole is shambolic, persistent issues prevail seemingly unstoppable 'Severity One' issues occuring if not daily at the very least weekly, and with their published aims to cut these down to single figures in a year period they have failed miserably within weeks.
