Pros

The people at KIM are great, which is sadly taken advantage of by the CEO and leadership.

Cons

KIM will treat you great in the beginning of your time there, but when you start to see/experience the problems, things can shift very quickly. For starters, bouncing checks and asking employees to hold on depositing checks (which is NOT legal) was a common practice. Direct deposit is not given as an option so that this practice can continue. Not only is this an issue, but when I was first hired, my role was clearly defined and supported. After about 6 months, there was a huge lay-off and I had to take on work not in my job description. My role started to become a lot less defined, and I was lucky to hear from my direct boss more than once a week, which left me feeling isolated and confused as to where my career was headed. Everyone is kept so busy since they take on more of a workload than they can handle, and this lets many things slip through the cracks. Human resources and employee benefits were non-existent, and although it's a wonderfully diverse company with many intelligent people in the business, this is not handled well from a DEI perspective, with the CEO regularly quoting bible verses and discussing his faith to others and overpowering advice from management, even if it means better business practice. KIM is great as a subcontractor, but not as a boss. They put clients well before employees and their own subs, and this causes frequent turnover, especially at the technician level. Stay away if you can!
