Pros

they have a monetary incentive system for recognition and a fun, remote team. the entire office is remote, and while many team members do come in, you're never forced or coerced to go into the office. their remote first culture is one of the best i've experienced. lots of in-office events. drinks, fitness activities, etc. they really try to get people involved, but some other factors make people not want to join in...

Cons

going to be parroting the other negative review's cons. there's a problem with caring and communication. although the org commented that "it was a difficult choice" to shut down an entire department of the company, that decision came after a "promise' from the cofounder that they would remain "committed" to all satellite offices. layoffs are normal, but don't try to take the moral high ground by lying after the fact. everybody still talks about the gaslighting from leadership about this event. there's also one manager here that makes really misogynic comments about women, but only to other men, in calls and in the office. this individual makes it uncomfortable to speak up because they are harsh and abrasive so often. without naming any names, i think it's hypocritical of the company to promote diversity and belonging but also take no action against comments like this, especially against a manager. the weird cult of personality is also true, and something that is so ingrained in this org's culture. i started after the fact, but i've heard that new onboarding employees have to watch a series of picture slideshows featuring the cofounders? it's not odd to talk about the company's history and origins, but it's weird to focus so much attention on them with party music in the background. basically, despite all of the effort to have people more involved, the lieing nature of leadership makes it difficult to join in. people really don't feel comfortable coming in, and it's not just because of that one misogynic manager.
