Pros

Benefits are fantastic and you're treated like a real person, with one on one continued training when you're finally on the floor. Your lead will get to know you on an individual basis and you'll be treated like a part of the team from the beginning.

Cons

You aren't guaranteed any hours for months, merely to average 29 hours per week at the end of the year. There are WEEKS where you will go unscheduled (and EVERYONE starts as flex, with movement to full time occurring after years of working there). When I complained regarding the necessary number of hours I need to take care of my family, I was encouraged to apply for food stamps.
