Pros

Pay is okay-ish as per Product based Tier II company.

Cons

-Regular layoff that create an environment of threat. -Constantly leaving customers, high churn rate. Sinking ship -no proper cross team communication and things do not move due to this. -No one to handle cross-pod communication, there is one tpm but he is kinda useless. engineering team has to waste a lot of bandwidth there. -Senior management has no clarity in company vision and often there are clashes -No cross-team activities/etc from HR dept. No one actually cares. -Incoming SDEs are not of great quality batches - Over burdened QA teams resulting in high bugs and customer complaints.

Pros

Coming out of college and getting my first taste of the corporate world, I was nervous about the environment I was stepping into. Level made that transition incredibly smooth. Having executives in the office and easily accessible has been extremely valuable, whether it is asking questions or learning from their experience. While the sales program is still new, it is clear the leadership team is doing everything they can to set you up for success. They truly invest in you here, and it feels rewarding walking into the office every day.

Cons

As mentioned before, it is a startup, so things are constantly changing whether you like it or not. I do not necessarily see this as a con, since many of the new initiatives are exciting, but from a structural standpoint, I can understand how that level of change can feel risky.

Pros

I think Level is in a really interesting space that is ripe for disruption and that leads to some pretty cool use cases with large brands.

Cons

Completely void of any semblance of a company culture really sucked the life out of offsites and larger group conversations. I think the negativity that starts at the top really snowballs quickly to the middle management layer and by the time it gets to ICs it's a bit out of control. Most leadership meetings were unproductive and you could tell folks were really there out of fear more than anything. Leadership was either unable to accept or implement changes to critical feedback and eventually I think people gave up providing it. Work/life balance was the worst I had ever had. 9pm slacks, 11pm emails, you name it and all were expected to be met with immediate responses.
