Pros

-- Lowe's is a big retail chain brand in US. It is a very big company and comes under Fortune 50 companies. Company started in Bangalore around 3 years back. As of now there are around 1800+ employees here in Manyata Tech Park. -- Every single person is recruited here according to project need. There is no concept of bench here. If someone has been recruited then there is definitely work. It is neither product based nor a consulting company . It is a retail company. -- Company follows shift timings concept . Usually there are two shift timings 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM and 10:30 AM to 7:30 PM . Company provides cab on subsidized rate which is 1600 rs from all over the Bangalore. In some support projects people come from 1 to 10 shift . In this particular shift , cab is free + you get some allowances as well around 500 rs per day. -- The pay scale of Lowe's is better than consulting companies . I would say that is 10 to 20 % higher. -- Work environment is fine. Learning depends on which project you are actually going. It totally depends on the project. If general policies/HR policies are concerned then i would say that they are good. -- This company has setup their center here in India so that there is no need to hire people in US at a high dollar salaries . So there is no concept of L1/H1 visa here. Although most of the people go to US only for short term for 3 to 6 weeks. People easily get B1 visa from Lowe's as this is a big brand in US. -- Company used to provide free food and free breakfast before one year but now company gives around 160 rs on daily basis for food. This is not included in the CTC. -- The Gratuity component is not included in salary which means that you get a good in hand salary. -- Basic component of salary is very high here so it means that you will be getting a good HRA which means less income tax only in case you are giving high rent in Bangalore. -- As far as appraisals are concerned People get 6 to 15 % hikes every year. Hikes are usually in a normalized way here : it means high CTC less hike, Low CTC good hike. This is the general feedback here. -- You will get 21 Vacation leaves and 12 casual leaves here . -- Work from home policy is there and it depends on Manager's approval. 1 to 3 work from home are usually allowed in a month. -- As far as hire and fire policy is concerned,I have not heard any one who has been fired yet . -- Medical insurance policy is best here. You will get 5 Lakhs for your self +spouse and kid and you get 3 Lakh for your parents. Company also give a OPD card with a recharge of 10000/ rs for general doctors consultation on yearly basis. -- Salary has two components fixed + 10 % variable pay. Variable depends on employee performance + company performance. Usually a good performer gets 75 to 85% of the total variable pay. -- Notice period is only two months here. -- Overall Work life Balance is good in Lowe's .

Cons

-- Relocation bonus is not good in Lowe's . If anyone is relocating to Lowe's from north India then company gives only 25000 which is very less. -- Company has stopped food buffet system , instead it is giving 160 rs on daily basis . -- Company has very frequent reporting hierarchical changes which is not good for the employee. The hierarchical changes on Director level are still fine but such changes at Manager level are not fine. -- No gifts on festivals .

Pros

Great learning opportunities Decent Pay for this economy; although 5-10 years ago would’ve been as they say: high on the hog. Hard work breeds good character Acquire many skills and knowledge in a vast multifaceted environment. Health benefits and vision are pretty good I love job.

Cons

Pay needs to be higher Culture can feel like an elitist environment Rewards aren’t based on merit unfortunately Employee discount is only 10%…. Not enough staff anytime of the year. Corporate greed amongst the executives, the gears ⚙️ don’t turn without the cogs ⚙️.

Pros

Some amazing customers and coworkers. Tasks and systems were easy to learn. Sometimes you get lucky and have amazing ASMs and SMs. It's easy to get a good survey when you treat customers like friends, be honest about what you do and don't know, and work to learn what you don't. That goes a long way with customers. I personally truly loved my job and loved spending as much time as I could at work.

Cons

Once you are on someones S*** List they will make it possible to get rid of you. Management only follows policy when it benefits them. Some people get promoted when they have no business working in retail as a leader. The A/C in the store I worked in was always broken during the summer, which made it miserable to work. Some customers are entitled due to they way management will kiss their butts to keep from losing a sale or getting a bad review. Management will make a paper trail to write you up if you mess up or are struggling instead of helping you better yourself. Management does not care about employees' work-life balance. Management does not care if their employees are struggling with personal issues like car troubles, health issues, financial issues, etc. Management will get rid of great employees but keep people who don't pull their weight. Once I hit burnout, instead of helping me, I was punished by my managers. In turn making me hate a job I truly loved.
