Pros
Some really bright and motivated people who want to deliver value to clients and build a business. Used to be a decent place to work even a few months back with good enough perks. Was a very welcome break from the core company where the leadership fragmented out from. At one point Mathco had experts that were the envy of the whole industry - actual industry experts and practioners leading things.
Cons
Leadership is in hands of just one or two persons who are running the company to ground. Every new bright shiny object becomes the north star of this company. Leadership has no clue how to run a business hence there were hundreds of layoffs in 2022-2023. Every week we woke up with the news of layoffs in onshore and offshore. Leadership is totally cut off from reality. A pathetic growth function and sales function yet the leadership is ready to sink with them not sure why. Mecca of mediocrity at this point. Core team taking big decisions is full of mediocre people with zero data science background. Everything in now hinging on hustle and bs ing clients to sell something. Leadership is not patient at all not focused on the long game just running after the next gimmicky thing to say and promote. Today A tomorrow B day after tomorrow C ..... And the list goes on. As like begets like mediocre leaders only attract mediocre analysts and junior folks. The heads of delivery more often than not know nothing except politics and bullying. Good people pushed out every other week. Exceptionally high pressure cooker type environment. Arrogance and nasty behaviour seems to be the currency of the org. Not sure why the board is sitting and cheering from the sidelines as this company is going to the dogs. Not a single initiative had follow through more than 3 months. Something doesn't work and the company abandons it midway in 90 days or less. The sales team front their leader all the way up is sets new benchmarks in incompetence. Everything here runs on arrogance and unethical behaviour. Only focus is to nickel and dime folks who work day in day out to keep margins at a hypothetical point. Favouritism is rampant. Leaders openly say I have to make XYZ persons successful however incompetent the XYZ person is. Meritocracy has been flushed down the toilet long time ago. Everything is fake and disingenuous here and that seems to be the culture. Mediocrity is worshipped and celebrated at every instance
