Pros
Flexible for families, work/life balance
Cons
No career advancement, the person next you to could be paid $10k+ more to be doing the same job( and often more poorly) no performance management of poor performing staff members, mid level managers vs the team members it’s very ‘us and them’, not transparent or clear communication/ information provided - our particular office was fueled by rumours, people often get jobs internally who are not qualified for them, reward and recognition program was basically non-existent, the structure across teams who primarily did the same job were different so some teams would have more support than others, constantly understaffed and temps are not the answer. Also if you ‘wrong’ people in HR your career with suffer - so discrimination is prevalent and the wrong people have power.
