Pros

They give you the week between Xmas and NYE off.

Cons

- Compared to other research suppliers, pay is very very low. Most people who leave end up nearly doubling their salaries elsewhere. Everyone deserves better than what Mindsight pays. - Benefits are also very poor. There's no 401K eligibility for a whole year (not even so you can contribute yourself), healthcare is very expensive, and they only give you 15 days of PTO per year. - Upper management claims to be supportive, but it is a facade. If you have a concern, you will likely be gaslit into seeing yourself as in the wrong. Various ex-employees have experienced this, to the point that it's an established norm that even current employees are aware of. - Poor resource management. They regularly go through cycles of laying off numerous employees and then forcing the workload onto the remaining over-worked employees. The same issue arises when employees inevitably leave for greener pastures. It's demoralizing to lose so many people so quickly, both voluntarily and involuntarily. - Shady practices abound. Many fly under the radar/are deliberately hidden from you until you're on the way out, but once you see them, it's alarming.

Pros

- Culture: co-workers are super welcoming and willing to jump in and help at any time. Leadership is involved and willing to hear new suggestions at any time. The people are awesome...I've always felt supported, appreciated, and seen over my 5 years here. - I felt that the training at Mindsight was really well-organized for a company this size...I even loved the period of time when I was learning the ropes because my co-workers made me feel capable and smart (even when I didn't feel that way at first). - Part-time can be flexible when needed -- though as an operations team member, sometimes you get a project that's on a tight timeline and you won't have time for your planned afternoon Costco run. I learned to plan ahead and was able to balance my work and life the way I wanted to fairly easily. - Vacation policies are generous -- includes floating holidays and more company holidays than any other company I've worked for or heard of. Example: they typically shut the whole business down from Christmas through New Years to give everyone a break. No PTO needed. It's awesome -- felt like I was a kid again on Christmas vacation. - Boss (Shawn) is awesome. He hates being called boss and he really cares about his people. He takes the responsibility of being in charge without any of the ego. You'll never find someone more dedicated to your success. And he welcomes feedback. "I can't fix it if I don't know about it" was one of this phrases -- meaning he wants you to raise issues and make suggestions. Complaining with no effort to help form a solution won't get you too far, but bringing his attention to problems that you're willing to engage with or help fix is always, always encouraged -- something that I really appreciated. - Dress code -- pretty relaxed, though if you have presentations with clients or potential clients its expected that you look and act professional, so use common sense (seriously not too much to ask in my opinion). If I wasn't at a turning point in my personal life, I would stay for a long time. I've loved it here. Highly recommend.

Cons

If you're ready to work hard and go the extra mile on occasion, this is the place for you. You'll be rewarded for it. But Mindsight is not the place for someone who isn't ready to develop themselves, stretch, or do their part. It's too small of a company to be a job where you can do the minimum and then go home...its a place where everyone wants to go above and beyond to create quality outputs. Put more bluntly -- if you're lazy, you won't make it here. Hard workers do the best and are promoted the most. On the other hand, if you want to do well and are putting effort in, there are so so many people and resources that will jump in and help you achieve your personal and professional goals. Mindsight is a smaller company, so your health benefits may not look as great as they would if you worked for a Fortune 100. That's just how it goes. But the plus side to that is a smaller company is more flexible (see my bullet on company holidays above) and I've always felt that compensation is competitive and more than fair.

Pros

With a good amount of experience working at Mindsight, these sum up the reasons why I love working here and why I would recommend Mindsight to anyone. -As much opportunity for growth as you want to take advantage of -Flexible work schedule, getting the work done is what counts -People that care about your personal development and give you opportunities to do and learn new methods, industries etc -NOT sheltered behind layers of management doing menial tasks until you're deemed worthy to actually lead a research project yourself. -Face time and the ability to learn from everyone in the company, even the CEO. -Culture that's focus on improvement and ability to suggest changes in process or projects -They always do the right thing by their clients and their people, deep commitment to the success of clients AND employees -They believe in your potential, what you bring to the table and the positive impact you can make on clients, the company and your peers -Culture of cooperation, everyone is so friendly and willing to help each other. No egos and no back-stabbing to get ahead! -People are rewarded, recognized and promoted for their hard work and contributions on a regular basis -Bonus days off throughout the year + a good base PTO schedule, opportunity to have paid volunteer time off and holiday shut down time -Fun get togethers to bond and connect with coworkers

Cons

-No company is perfect. Being in the market research business (or any supplier side) sometimes means there's ebbs and flows of work and there's always deadlines to meet. -You'll get out of it what you put into it, which I personally love, but might not be for everyone.
