Pros
• Some managers see each contributor's value added and care about not burning out their employees • Compensation is ok • Excellent benefits • Many industry veterans with deep subject matter knowledge make the experience enjoyable, sometimes
Cons
• Severely understaffed: workload is unreasonable making it quite difficult to achieve goals • Quota system for bonuses leaves some of the highest achievers getting $0 while the company performance is excellent. A maximum fixed percent of team members must get no bonuses regardless of performance • Some managers are clueless about the technical aspects of the roles and don't understand the workload • Raises are a joke; 1-2% per year • Overspending on contractor support followed by periods of extreme cost-cutting is only good for cooking the quarterly reports and leaves employees frustrated • Training is practically non-existent and you're basically left to discover on your own without proper resources. This has recently started improving but needs much more support • No effort to fight attrition nor replace lost talent
