Pros
Great design-build work experience if you are busy enough. Benefits include health and dental insurance, cell phone reimbursement, mileage reimbursement, vacation time, accruing sick leave time and a few others. Most every one that works there are friendly. Good work/life balance and work environment, if you are working with a good team or if you are getting enough work as a general design associate.
Cons
No rewards or compensation for great performance or system in place for raises (if there is, it is next to impossible and a long, discouraging process to receive what you feel you have earned). No acknowledgment of design associates or their talents or skills. Design Consultants rarely seek Design Associate help from within in the company, but rather hire from outside the company, leaving current Design Associates confused and out of work.
