Pros

I worked at Neiman Marcus over the holiday season in the gift gallery. I felt that my coworkers were pretty friendly and upbeat, and for the most part, the work was very good. Challenging, products you could believe in as a sales person, multifaceted. The best retail sales environment one could ask for. Commission was excellent. I got some great experience dealing with lots of different kinds of customers. My managers were great. Stylish, upscale environment. I really felt like a part of the team even though I was seasonal.

Cons

I wish they would hire me back! I really liked it there, but they didn't have any open positions past the holiday season. Also, hate to say it, but in my experience I observed that sales really dipped down in the three months I worked there. The company seems to be declining a little bit, and management seems to be pulling strings left and right to maintain profits.

* If you have an amazing team and management the day goes by fast. * Commission. * Easy to rely on foot traffic to meet goals. * If you ask for growth, they set thing ups that align with what you want, you just need to ask.

Cons

* If its slow, its SLOW. * There can be drama, it just depends on the department you're in.

A toxic environment where sales are almost zero because vendors are pulling their product off the shelf because their bills aren’t getting paid. They’re in the middle of coming out of a bankruptcy , if a client does come in, we usually don’t have the product to sell them ,only lines who are partially thriving is fragrance ! The hours are terrible. You get off work at nine and you’re expected to be back at 9:30 AM.
