Pros

- I worked a Nuance for a couple of years now. - The technology used can be edge ones, or really old ones, depending really on the devision you are working in. - Work life balance is great, we have a lot of flexibility. However, it can be hell when you don't know how to balance between this flexibility and your personal life, you will find yourself with a lot of work load for some days because you didn't really work enough in the previous days. - As far as I have seen, they really recognize the people. If you do your job well, and you are a guy to be trusted, they will give you what you want. If you are "regular" or "normal" person who does the 9-5 job without getting involved into extra things, you will have the regular advancing pace. - Again, it all depends on who your manager is, what team are you in and how you and your manager sync together. I have seen people working hard but getting normal returns, and people working smart getting leap promotions in just a year or two. - The company is getting better with the new CEO in my opinion. They care more now about the people and the innovation. Before Mark, they used to care more about the profits, which returned into the CEO bank account with a huge amount of layoffs every year. Since Mark took over the role, we did not get any layoff even during the pandemic.

Cons

- Lack of activities a bit. I can see other people in other companies doing fun stuff like a weekend gathering, little party, lunch day. They started recently to do that in a limited way online due to covid, but I hope after covid we still see this kind of fun stuff. - Sometimes you feel that you get higher responsibilities than your role. You find yourself deciding things because they were left without a decision from management/product owners. But again, it can be used in your advantage to take points in front of your management. It depends on your personality. Some people hate that, some people love that to jump. Your choice. - Decisions are sometimes very slow to take. Some problems can remain there for a while with several revisits until someone takes a decision.

Pros

The company offers excellent training and a thorough onboarding process, helping new hires feel well-prepared and confident. The small, close-knit teams foster a collaborative and supportive work environment where you never feel lost in the crowd. Employees take pride in the innovative technology and software being developed, which is recognized as impactful within the industry. (Note: The company was acquired by Microsoft to bring potential for future growth.)

Cons

While the company excels in many areas, there’s limited upward mobility, especially in certain career paths, which can be frustrating for those seeking advancement. Additionally, feedback from employees often feels like it’s not taken seriously, which can lead to disengagement when trying to influence change or improve processes.
