Beginning to think Okta is too tolerant of bad managers, employees, and culture - Technical Support Engineer Okta Employee Review

Pros

The product is obviously industry leading. The office has many perks and smiling faces, and many of the senior execs I've met are incredibly down to earth and good-humored.

Cons

Okta tends to throw ill-conceived surveys at you in an attempt to figure out how they can help improve your job, then they misinterpret the results by concocting an almost insulting solution. In our team, I have seen external hires start at a higher salary and job title than people with long tenure, for no explicable reason -- these folks often struggle with onboarding and lean heavily upon their lower ranked/salaried peers for several months. I have observed this not being so great for morale, and rumors run amok that there is cronyism and nepotism from various managers. There is evident supporting this should leadership choose to look.

Pros

Great Benefits. Fantastic product. Company is scaling (or at least trying to).

Cons

Management and company culture has grown toxic. Extremely political and dramatic. Specifically in sales, marketing, and the C-Suite. I wouldn’t recommend joining okta unless you are some type of director or above and also remote. SF just RTO’d and it’s been miserable.
