Pros

They really have the best coffee of exceptional quality, always. They care about the coffee farmers and the "big picture" of the coffee industry. The owners are humble and admirable people. The ambiance of the cafes was always a huge plus; as they are beautiful environments to work in. The employees in this company are extremely gifted and talented people. The constant strive for improvement and excellence was very motivating and inspiring for me! Work/Life balance was pretty good! The customers are wonderful clientele!

Cons

Decisions were being made at higher leadership levels with either very little, or no input at all from the employees who were most affected. Other employees who had equivalent roles as me were held to different standards than I was. I was given false information (with evidence to back) about my compensation in relation to others. Compensation was somewhat low, despite plentiful company growth and spending on 'things' instead of people. Over time, I lost trust in my boss and leadership for numerous reasons. I often felt and observed a social/cultural divide between the "barista" employees who work in the actual shops, vs. the "corporate" employees who held the more "white collar" roles.

Pros

-consistently good tips -usually a fun work environment. Unless you are on to get stressed by working in an extremely busy shop -mostly behind bar work -good money for a coffee shop job -they offer health insurance / other benefits

Cons

-management / upper management can be very nitpicky -hourly rate is pretty bad considering the performance they expect and desire -probably make less money as a shift lead/ assistant manager than a regular barista as management work cuts into hours that could be worked behind the bar and getting tips - which is where the real money is at -hard to get enough hours to earn benefits. Sometimes felt like the carrot was being dangled right in front of you
