Pros

If you are a driven, high-performing, gritty professional, there are no limits to what you can accomplish at Paycom. I have had the privilege of working here for 3.5 years, and in such a short amount of time I have experienced so much growth personally and professionally. The TSR role is dynamic and intellectually challenging. As a leader in the TSR department, I have the opportunity to develop some of the most talented, smart, driven, positive, charismatic people on the planet. I LOVE my job. I have autonomy, support from leadership, and ample opportunity to develop and grow within my role and beyond. It is so motivating to work alongside like-minded people, hustling every day to achieve something bigger than ourselves. Paycom is more than a job, even more than a career. Paycom has become my family. Some of my best friends are my coworkers. We vacation together and we are in eachother's weddings. These are the people I turn to when I am facing hardship in my life and the people I celebrate with when things go right. Looking back at my W2's, I have doubled my income every year I've been at Paycom, and I am on track to do it again this year. If you are willing to roll up your sleeves and put in the work, the financial rewards are incredible. I have paid off student loans for 2 bachelor's degrees and have more financial freedom than I hoped for at this stage in my life. Don't get me wrong, we work HARD for what we earn, but that is what makes it so rewarding. We come to work every day ready to learn and grow and I love coming home knowing I couldn't have given an ounce more of myself that day. Not everyone is a fit. If you are not ready to dedicate yourself to growth and you are looking for an easy clock in/clock out kind of job, this is not for you. There are plenty of jobs out there that will be comfortable for you, but comfort is the enemy of abundance.

Cons

We are constantly pushed out of our comfort zone and faced with increasingly difficult challenges, which at times can be stressful, but it is a job after all. You will work longer hours sometimes to achieve objectives, which is only a con if you value 40 hour weeks over long term success. As we are a fast growing company, we are facing some growing pains internally, particularly cross-departmental communication, but I am confident we will overcome these challenges.

Pros

You can make a lot of money if you are in the right territory and have a good client base that hasn’t been oversold by previous AMs. The training is very good and you will make good friends! The people they hire are smart and fun to be around

Cons

If there has been high turnover in your territory it will be hard to sell as the clients have products that have not been properly implemented and are likely gun shy to purchase. It will also depend how “over promised/under delivered” their experience with new business is. The work/life balance can, and probably will, become very toxic. You are on the road constantly if you have a travel heavy territory which makes it difficult to get admin work done during business hours. You will be working before and/or after work - probably on the weekends as well. Ask for transparency in your territory assignment. You want to know how far your furthest client is as you will have to go see them in person at some point
