Forced relocation, for starters. They moved a department to a building in a rough area of the city rather than allow remote work to continue. It has visible mold on walls and smells like sewage, causing headaches and other health concerns. We’ve consistently tried to report this to HR with little to no action being taken. There is mold in the room they set aside for breastfeeding mothers but they just wipe it off the wall. They focus heavily on hiring due to constant turnover and have no strategy for retention. Our team members are forever drowning in transitioned projects. The pay doesn’t allow us to consistently attract employees that can meet the company’s performance expectations. They boast about using compostable plates, cups, etc but then individually wrap shirts for thousands of employees in bubble wrapped green foil packaging, so any eco friendly claims you see are false. Tons of accruals, but taking time off is stressful because of metrics and performance demands, so most people end up checking emails or Teams expecting fires or issues. They refuse to give very warranted and necessary pay increases, plus they’re only offering 2-4% once per year for the annual merit increases. They absolutely are not paying some employees enough to afford decent apartments and live on their own without roommates as adults. They put us through so many unnecessary trainings that are a waste of time and add stress to already overwhelmed and overworked employees. Right now they’re forcing every employee to go through a Payroll Accounting training where we learn how to calculate payroll taxes and create ledgers and fill out tax forms. All of which has absolutely nothing to do with a majority of our roles, we will literally never put it into practice. There are leaders and people who genuinely care but the higher up the ladder, the less connected to the people and empathetic they are. They don’t even realize most of us are on the way out.
