Pros

They seem friendly to start with

Cons

Poor management from directors, make you 'redundant' because they can't be bothered to train you correctly or provide support & use excuses like 'business is quite' and then recruit for your role on social media within hours Poor communication and handling of employees, no HR department! Ridiculous standards for reports that change on a weekly basis, you don't know if your coming or going with the way they want them writing and offer no guidance! No additional benefits from the company apart from the salary which isn't amazing given the lack of support and no job stability! No career development opportunities or exam support

Pros

Over 30 years in the finance industry and the 6 months (so far) of it at Pension Works is right up there as one of the best places I have ever worked. The company is growing all the time & it's great to be part of that success. If the management say they'll do something, they do it. They really do recognise hard work and value input from the team. Giving clients the highest level of service is key to them and they go all out to support staff, enabling them to deliver that service. The company is still small enough for everyone to be part of the team, rather than an overly strict tiered structure. The people are all lovely, helpful & enjoy a bit of fun while working really hard. The office is great, lovely location, parking no problem. I would highly recommend applying for the opportunity to work for this fast paced, dynamic, fun company.

Cons

I can't think of any

Pros

Location is ok - Booths park is a lovely business park with lots of greenery.

Cons

Business is run at the whims of the director - if he doesn't like someone they have little chance of remaining in the job. I was let go without reason after a very short period. I was offered very little training so chose to take initiative and used my own previous experience and skills to work on projects as best I could to help colleagues during a busy time, but was then reprimanded for not being willing to take part in training?! I was not given much instruction in the first place and was not given any chance to improve or learn further, I was let go without full explanation. Still don't understand what I did wrong and I suspect I unwittingly upset the director by not being compliant or passive enough rather than actually making any genuine mistakes.
