Pros
There are some talented and kind people that still work there and you might be lucky enough to work with them.
Cons
Don't Walk Away, Run! This review is a public service announcement for anyone considering a job at Planet DDS. Let me preface this by saying I rarely write negative reviews, but my experience here necessitates a warning. A Culture of Chaos: The work environment at Planet is nothing short of chaotic. Management lacks any sense of direction, leading to constant last-minute changes, unclear priorities, and a persistent feeling of scrambling to meet arbitrary deadlines. This creates a stressful and unproductive atmosphere where burnout is rampant. To add on to that, everything is about cutting costs to a point where you start to worry that maybe you won’t have a job in the next few months. Leadership by Intimidation: Upper management thrives on a culture of fear. They micromanage everything, offer little to no support, and resort to public humiliation to "motivate" employees. There's a constant sense of walking on eggshells, stifling creativity and innovation. If you enjoy the punch down approach then absolutely join this company. To top it all off, a return-to-office policy has been implemented without considering employee well-being or the effectiveness of remote work options. Empty Promises and Broken Dreams: During the interview process, Planet paints a rosy picture of career growth and opportunity. However, the reality is a lack of transparency around promotions, limited training resources, and a constant churn of employees leaving for greener pastures or getting surprise laid off. There have been multiple instances of new hires being laid off within 6 months, so tread lightly. The Revolving Door: Turnover is out of control. Talented people are leaving at an alarming rate due to low morale, lack of support, and the aforementioned management style. This creates a constant knowledge gap and additional workload for those remaining. It is so bad in some departments that people have left and taken a career change just to escape. A Word to the Wise: Unless you thrive in a chaotic, high-pressure environment with demonstrably poor leadership, avoid Planet at all costs. Your mental health and career prospects will thank you.
