Pros
The company is a very structured "family" business, with a lot of experienced staff going in and out and distinguished prestige behind the name. It is a great transition point for anyone looking to forward their career in retail or luxury sales. Base pay is on-par with the direct competitors. Responsibilities given to you are plentiful, and if you're looking to gain experience then well recommended.
Cons
Middle management has been a revolving door over the years, with a culture of blame-shifting negative results leading to little responsibility being accepted by higher-up decision making. A lot of nepotism involved behind the scenes, particularly with upper-management positions and promotions. As a Sales Associate, you very much feel like another ID number for the company and this can lead to resentment. Italian bias is heavy (better brush up on it) and deplorable sales practices occur which competitors wouldn't allow. Benefits are extremely lackluster. In-store middle-management tends to have questionable communication/people skills leaving lower-level staff feeling patronized and disrespected. Rule enforcement tends to be on a convenience basis. Promotions are rare, with the company adopting a policy of "ask or you don't get". Once you do ask, it's typically met with excuses each time.
