Pros

Staff were friendly and understood how you were feeling.

Cons

Worked at Primark for roughly 3 months. Was given a department, and given 3 hours to make sure it was clean, stocked, as well as doing other jobs on the shop floor, whilst achievable, management didnt take into consideration that whilst you were folding, customers were unfolding meaning there was no way you could get your work done. The pay was terrible, minimum wage and you was worked till you were practically dead You had meetings every morning telling you the sales as if you were accountable for them. you cant force customers to buy clothes? You had to sell gift cards over the christmas period.. again, unrealistic as you can only suggest to customers to buy them Management are unprofessional, would speak about me to other colleagues on the shop floor Because you was so overworked, it was difficult to interact with customers and give a good standard of customer services. For the 3 months I worked in Primark, I developed anxiety and my depression got worse. Even though I had no backup plan, it was easier to be unemployed than work for a company which is a disgrace. I'd like people to consider why primark is so cheap as compared to other retailers. Businesses make profits due to (profits minues their production, delivery, wages ect costs) For primark to be so cheap, something along the chain must be being abused, eg staff pay, I don't want to go into production as who knows who primark employs to do that.

Pros

You get lots of PTO up front as a part timer and can gain flex hours overtime. Get a 50 cent raise every six months.

Cons

Was told during onboarding that if a Christian comes into the store spreading the gospel, I have to kick them out. This includes the mention of the Jesus without the church invite. Managers claim its rude and if a customer does it, they get booted. Faced harassment from a customer and management didn't let me switch too a different department. Extremely high turnover rate and managers don't replace them, making your job more stressful during peak hours. Hard to use PTO. Little to no training. Too many bachelor and master holding part timers who get lucked out of moving up in the company. Managers give some people no task while pilling on multiple tasks on one person. Too many managers to deal with (and usually never find) and the full timers make you do the dirty work while they "unpack boxes". Its a pro-LGBT anti christian company. If they want to be pro-LGBT, than more power to them. But anti-Christian is discriminatory and unnecessary.
