No Real Support in My Region - Business Development Manager Protocall Communications Employee Review

Pros

Schedule Autonomy, Pays well, Incentives on sales

Cons

Was told there was a base office in my area when I interviewed, then after I was hired I was told that is not the case. And being as I was brand new to sales I needed extra support and there was none to be found. The technology is outdated and locked down so tightly you can’t even print from it. There is a rolling sales quota of 4 sales every 21 days, which is actually 4 in 15 unless you choose to work weekends. They tell you they will send you out the materials you need, such as your badge, and you will never receive it. Also you are hired by Protocall, then find out you sell Constellation Energy Supply, but all of your employment info (paycheck) come from Catapult Staffing Solutions. So it is confusing when you are asked who you work for.

Pros

Nearly unlimited commission opportunities. Fortune 100 client providing best in class service. Comprehensive training available in both a structured and unstructured environment (ie…. unstructured means furthering your knowledge and skill set above and beyond if you choose with available resources). This is a commission SALES job. If you don’t have a passion for sales, for learning your product and always understanding a changing sales environment, it will be a more difficult job.

Cons

Because the product you are selling has a market based cost that can be unpredictable, some people get frustrated with things out of their control that makes selling the product more difficult at times and easier at times. People who have a difficult time with this unpredictability or have not put in the time and energy (pun) to understand the product they sell will be more challenged.
