Pros

I enjoyed the autonomy more than anything. Being able to dictate when to do tasks when you wanted to, when to go to lunch, etc. Got along fairly well with co-employees and District Manager. Okay if you're between jobs and need a full time position quickly and temporarily. But having worked there for two years, I cannot recommend anything beyond about six months.

Cons

No room for advancement for the boots on the ground. Shrinking benefits despite growing profits. Ron Havner. Needless stress from higher ups re: sales, maintaining scripts (never used their scripts and sold just fine, thank you very much). Most properties had some pretty big maintenance issues that didn't get resolved for months, many properties lack proper security precautions. The feeling of constantly harassing customers with calls; either reservation, delinquency, or welcome calls. Not evicting problem customers (customers dangerous to employees or other customers, conducting illegal operations on site, customers who frequently go in to lien or auction). Feeling like you could be held up and shot at any time at certain properties and no real precautions to alleviate that threat at those properties. Forcing customers in to purchasing a lock and insurance. Always unsure if person working property the day before actually did anything. Poor work/life balance for property managers as they're required to work where they live and if they quit or get terminated, they have an extremely short amount of time (about 48 hours) to find a new place and move out. Sadly, despite all these cons, I don't see this company changing anything and since we're getting in to the company's busy season, things will continue to go down this same path.

Pros

Public Storage is a great place to work and grow your career. I’m surrounded by talented leaders who are supportive, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in developing their teams. The company has a strong culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement, which creates an environment where employees can succeed and make an impact. What excites me most is that Public Storage is in a significant growth phase. It’s an energizing time to be part of the organization, with opportunities to contribute to meaningful initiatives, take on new challenges, and help shape the future of the business. The company continues to invest in its people, processes, and growth strategy, making it an excellent place for those who are looking to develop professionally while being part of a winning team. If you’re looking for a company with strong leadership, career advancement opportunities, and a clear vision for the future, Public Storage is a fantastic place to be.

Cons

Cons: As Public Storage continues to grow, the pace of the business can be very fast. There are often multiple initiatives, priorities, and opportunities happening simultaneously, which requires strong organizational skills and the ability to adapt quickly. Success in this environment depends on being able to effectively prioritize, manage competing demands, and stay focused on the highest-impact work. While the pace can be challenging at times, it also creates tremendous opportunities for growth, learning, and career development.
